Anyone have any recommendations about front bucket seat interchangeability with other vehicles or just other buckets you guys have tried that you find work well for y'all? Thanks!
If your car has a catiletic converter hump on the pasenger side, it takes a special set of tracks for that side. I was lucky to find a mav the same year as mine at a auction for the right price that had the factory reclining buckets in it. I had them reapolstered and they bolted right in.( see pictures in my images) Someone on the forum might have a set or know where there is a set. Good luck.

If you have the seat tracks that is the most important part. Now just find some seats that are comfortable to you. My buckets are out of a 1990 Mustang and are very comfortable.
Ford used the same bolt pattern between the seat and the tracks for many applications up into the 1990s. The front to rear measurement will be 13 inches. The width is 14. The cat hump seat tracks get a little odd in that the passenger seat was made with the tunnel side track positioned higher than the outboard track. The outboard track needs to be raised to the same level to make "normal" seats work. Also you will need to move the raised bracket for the front position for the tunnel side track, basically moving it back, and riveting or welding it in a new position. Mercury Monarch and Ford Granada bucket seats are the same as 76/77 Maverick. even the tracks are similar. The frame of the passenger seat has the step needed for the cat hump.I believe just the inner rear driver's side stud is to short. I have a set of Monarch seats in my 77
my boy has had 80's mustang seats in his comet but that was a 74 so no cat hump he also has a set of racing seats installed in his 71 maverick
I did 94 Camaro seats... but only one hole lines up on their tracks and you have to do some fabricating for height
I was thinking of buying new seats by procar or someone aftermarket like that. I would like to mount them a bit further back, to give me another 2-4" of legroom. Is that possible without reinventing the wheel? How hard is it to bolt these up to my seat brackets?

If I have to go rigging it up with steel stock and brackets, I would rather just leave the seats at stock location.
You can attach the new steel anywhere along the seat track that you need to to mate up with the original holes in the floor.
Can't remember who posted it but I saved the pic cause it's what I'd like to do. These are Lincoln LS seats I believe. Front and rear. Maybe someone can chime in here...
