My 74 Grabber has an almost pristine olive green interior. The only flaw is a tear in the driver side high back bucket seat. I am changing my exterior color which will require I re-upholster the seats and paint the plastic panels with SEM interior paint. If someone is need of a real nice green interior, I might consider a trade for a black or blue interior with high back buckets. Send me a PM if interested.
This interior is such nice condition that I hate to paint or dye anything. Even the seat belt/shoulder harnesses & headliner are super nice. If I could swap it for a like condition interior, everyone wins. My exterior will be Mini Cooper electric blue with '72 silver grabber stripes. Doesn't go well with green.
Thats the color Dave. Ive seen it, its in amazing condition for being 40 years old. Ed, Im glad to hear you might let it live! I actually like the green....
Don, As you know, my car will not be too far off from your convertible. The green doesn't go with electric blue, but every time I look at it, it seems a crime to paint over it when someone might be looking for an original green interior. I ideally want white, but doubt there are a lot of sprint interiors out there. Black would be my next choice.
It would be sooo much cheaper to just paint it white and go with early Grabber style green stripes and small bumpers. To do the color change right, I have to pull the glass out of it, change the headliner and a whole lot of other things. More time and $$$$.
Ur right! that car has pristine interior. I think I wud leave it and go w/ the combo u mentioned (wht/grn stirpe). I have never used the interior paint; does it provide a finish similar "quality wise" to original panels.
