You've definitely chosen the correct car to be different then - we Maverick owners are certainly "different" :biglaugh:

Mine was going to be a 65 Falcon but I was having no luck locating one that was usable - A guy was then going to sell me the Mercury version of the Fairmont but my Maverick came my way as a free "get it out of my yard" car so that was that :)

Yeah, buying a roller is definately the way to go,however, getting it built w/ all the other internal parts still add up.

Your off to a great start for sure. A lot of guys around here don't like to see Mavericks hacked up but for a drag car you don't have a choice. Keep us posted.

    thanks ,

being all honest i wanted somthing different that was as common at the track my foxbody car i had was great c/m cage ect ..... but was painful seeing just classes full of foxbody cars.

i came across this car already at a good starting point and also knowing these cars are relitivley light .

as far as cutting up a maverick or a grabber .... these cars to me are along the lines of a chevy corvair . A very unique car that has a certain following of people (not bashing in any way) . There no cobra jet mustang or chevelle ss or 442 as money stand point at auction or collectors stand point .

Im a drag racer and wanted a change in looks and this is what i got. Im loving it !:thumbs2:
