1970 Ford Maverick Resto Hector

    progress

    i cut one section of the floor pans....the other one is just a rectangle....should have the replacements done by saturday...im fabbing it at work...and ill finish cutting the pedals section on saturday as well

    ill take some more when i get the pieces of sheet metal cut.....i have a shop vac....well one from harbor freight....does the job well

    With all that rust you should check for leaks in the cowl by pouring water in the vents by the windshield wipers.

    All of my front floor pan repairs were due to a leaking cowl - I just looked at it as another thing to repair but now everything is solid like new again :thumbs2:

    dang its been a while since i did something to the car besides taking out to the driveway and back to the garage lol , anyways.

    I got the brushable seam sealer and rust encapsulator from Eastwood, this afternoon i only had time to apply the seam sealer but probably tomorrow morning ill paint it.

    Here are the pics, stuff is real good and real easy to, I am NO expert at this so it might not look that good but im sure is going to seal, i was prettty generous on the amount and still have half left in the can.

    Looks like you did a good job fixing the floor rust :thumbs2:

    With your ignition switch under the dash and not in the column, your car is a 69 1/2 model not a 1972 like your avatar says :hmmm:

    Yea turned out nice....better than i expect it....

    Yea is a "69.5" the avatar has the info of when i joined and i was reeal close of getting a 72 grabber....but didnt happen thats why....i gotta change it, im actually pretty happy ibgot this one...its a 69 1/2 with factory a/c i like it

    Your repair panels look great! You have far less rust repair than most people are able to get away with. Did you have a chance to check your cowl yet?
