When doin the small bumper swap is the 71-72 grill/hood latch support need to be changed? If so does this mean I need to use a 71-72 grille? Also what are the braces in this picture for? Mainly the bent ones. This is a link with them pictured. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=99691&highlight=hood+latch+support Thanks Matt
You will need an early support, it has a mounting point specific to the early valance. The small bent brackets bolt to the ends of the bumper to help stabilize it.
I did the small bumper swap on my 75. You will want the early grill support because it extends all the way down and attaches to the valance. You can keep your grill the same. The small brackets attach to the ends of the bumper that wrap around the front fender and attaches where the valance bolts to the front fender. The long thin, straight brackets go from the bottom of the valance, where the front wheel well is, to the frame. The large bracket is the one that extends down from the hood latch support to the grill and then to the valance. Your picture shows all the brackets you need, not counting the 4 that hold the front bumper on.
