Are you taking the dash off now that you can get to it?

Removed the dash and everything attached to the firewall. Got to finally see the underside of the cowl. Looks like it's rusted pretty good around the top hats, but that's it. I believe I can make a sufficient repair from underneath.

Changing directions again, lol. Keeping the thread going because the year is still the same. Im was going to clone a Sprint with the 71 shell I have been gutting and rounded up all of the Sprint specific parts. I happened across a real Sprint for a great price and paid for it yesterday. I will pick it on the 12th of this month. Finally have a factory 302 car! Gonna be a fun build but staying stock except for Mustang or Comet GT scoop and Grabbr spoiler. Will post pics whenI get it home.

Another change in direction, sort of. Still building a Sprint, only instead of a clone, it's the real thing. I picked up a salvageable Sprint last weekend in KY. It has the usual rust in the quarters, floor, cowl and other areas that can just be swapped out, such as doors and fenders. I have all the body panels needed except for the quarters. I will sit back and wait on some NOS quarter panels to surface. Here is the new base for the project, not as nice as the shell I have but it's a real Sprint that makes me happy.

My first view as I pulled in to pick it up.

This is a factory 302 and still complete under the hood.

The interior is rough, but I have been collecting Sprint parts for over a year and have all I need to make it beautiful again.

All loaded up and ready for the long drive to its new home.

Here it is home safe, not a new scratch on it....:rofl2:

She even came with a Marti report and new door tag for after paint.

Where would one get a new door tag?

Thanks, I need one for my GT. I was going to tape around sticker if I had to. I never knew the Marti reports came with them.
