I started sanding down all the cross members and frame rails yesterday. This morning I finished up and masked everything.

I two coats of PPG's Hot Rod Black on the sub frame and cross members.

After a nice long lunch break I unmasked everything. I love the contrast of the sub frame and cross members being black against the blue! It almost makes it look like a real subframe rather than a unibody.

I then spent a little time getting the electric fan bolted to the shroud, using all stainless hardware. Then I bolted the shroud to the radiator, again using stainless hardware.

That's it for this weekend. The next installments will be of the suspension getting bolted in.

Thanks for following along. I hope some of you guys are enjoying this build thread.

I have been following the thread too. I like the rad/fan setup. I have a similar fan setup and was not able to mount the fan in center of the radiator. "The setup I am using is my Avatar." Do u have a 2 or 3 row/core radiator? I had to offset my 3 row to the pass side of the car and I am using a relatively thin fan compared to most I have seen in the aftermarket offerings.

I started installing some of the front suspension on Tuesday night…

Tonight I needed some hardware to finish the front so I moved to the rear. I put the rear end together with a new vent, installed the center section and installed new axle seals….

I then moved on and installed the new 2" dropped springs and Cal-Trac bars. Well, not the bars, but the ends.

Got it all mounted and slid the axles in. I put one brake rotor on and one rim just to check fitment. If any of you remember I ordered and purchased these rims two years ago. I was fingers crossed they would fit. The rotors are 13" drilled and slotted, I also had them powder coated on all non braking surfaces. The rims are 18x8.

Sorry, I am just now seeing this. I really don't remember which one mine is. I will have to dig up the paperwork, or see if it is on the box. Something tells me it is a 2 core, but I am not positive.

I'll dig it up and let you know.

Don't go to a lot of trouble to look it up! I was just wondering abt clearance issues w/ wp pulley? It looks like you have made some mods in the front cross-member, or have a 2 row, if you have, you may not have any clearance issues. I know I have 3 row, which made it necessary to mount my fan off-center.

    It hits the ground!!!!

So today was monumental. My car has not been on four wheels since the October/November of 2009.

I went out today and with the help of my dad got all the suspension in the car, wheels on and off the lift. I still need to go back and tighten everything now that it all has weight on it.

    Front brakes with 13" rotors….

So will you paint it "on the ground" or will it go back on the rack?

Permanently off the rack. I will put roller wheels on and take these off soon. But during the painting process the car will be on jack stands and wheels off. The entire bottom of the car will be masked off as well, since the entire bottom is all painted already.

I hope to have the shell painted sometime this fall. I will paint the entire car in pieces, then assemble to do the stripes and reclear.
