When is the last time you saw one of these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-OEM-For...Parts_Accessories&hash=item19f0d70165&vxp=mtr Micah
You definitely don't see them..... As far as the dent, you don't think 40+ years in ware houses it could never get dented..... Think again, as big as that sucker is I am surprises it doesn't have more damage.....
I worked at a Ford dealer in Parts, you should see what use to come in from Ford. The dent is probably the reason it's still NOS, a dealer probably ordered one, and it was damaged in shipping, the dealership would have filed a claim with Ford, and probably received another, and that one was put into a back room, since most parts departments hoard stuff. Where I worked, we had a room full of sheet metal.
a kid gave M.A.V. one about 5-6 years ago. Mike was leaving a cruise in and the kid stopped him and asked him if he wanted a Maverick hood. when Mike got there the kid gave him the NOS Grabber hood and a Grabber stripe kit. his Mom had ordered the hood and stripes in the early 70's to put on her mav but sold the car before they got installed... the flat hood on his car with the cutout for the tunnel ram was a NOS flat hood. what are the chances of owning 2 NOS Maverick hoods...
Oh man my car had a dent near there. It wasn't a lot of fun to get straight. That hood would take up some time in body shop labor. Tack that on the purchase and its one expensive piece of steel!
I think damage is relative by region. From what I've seen most of those hoods rust out completely on the front lip. To start with a solid hood and pulling out a small ding may be cost effective over cutting out the whole front section, welding in new metal and all the body work that goes with it. If it goes for under seven bills, I think somebody is going to get a decent deal.
My guess is no hoodlip molding, no scoops and a small dent...maybe $600 tops Buyer still has to pay shipping and getting that thing fixed, painted and installed on your car...you may be into it for just under $1000 Thats what i price a complete freshly painted grabber hood out to be..hood, scoops, molding, bodywork and paint.....and considering theyre only getting harder to come by i think its a fair price.
