that engine bay just looks amazing...but since you removed the VIN from the fender apron..will that ever cause an issue with anything ?

Ebay was my friend here. Do a search on Maverick Fan Shroud.

    Thanks!

    Thanks

A couple things here. First off the car is already registered and insured, so I don't have to deal with that. Also, in my experience repairing cars in the collision world, reattaching Vin tags is a big no no. I have the part that the original #'s are stamped into. I am saving it. I feel I am better off not stamping #'s into that hand made part than I would be by putting them there.

    Thank you!

I know, right!! It seems like it has taken forever to get to this point.

In a few hours I am going to push it outside for some better pics. Stay tuned.

Crazy cool!!! The thing about this build is that it works for any car, as far execution. I have to say it is a little thing but that side view mirror looks killer on there. I know you get compliments always, and they are well deserved, but this car just flows if that makes sense. There are many very nice cars and the stock lines of the maverick/comet car are nice, but to change things and make them flow better is not always an easy task or it is executed wrong, and while one can respect the time and effort that some one has put into a vehicle some just miss the mark, this one doesn't!

Ward, I can't thank you enough for those very kind words. Throughout my entire life I have been around hot rods. I even got a ride in the real deal ZZ Top car in OK City when it was still all the rage. I have been able to see what works, and what doesn't. Like you, I think the Maverick has great lines, and with only a few tweaks I thought I could really accentuate them. Smooth them out if you will.

This entire build is my "what if". What if a hot rodder built the car to todays hot rod/ pro touring/ street rod standards. Or, what if Ford had taken the time to refine the car they made.

Again, thank you. I am glad that some of you guys can appreciate what I am trying to do here.

Having not had suspension in my car for many years, I threw caution in the wind and ordered mine based on Maverick Mans listing on his web site. I have to say, they are spot on for the rears. I like the fronts as well, but until the front fender goes on I won't really know how I like it. So far so good though.

    It sees daylight!!

So today was another great day. I was able to roll it outside, and then stand back and really look at the car. Look at the stance, walk around it and really get a good look at it.

I can't wait to get the nose on it and see how it looks. I hope the front isn't too low with that front spoiler?

I like the carbon fiber treatment you did on the shroud. Nice touch.

Your spoiler has inspired me for my own build, is yours 1" taller than stock height? I think I'm going to go for a little taller than that. Love the build!

    Hey Glenn,

Next time you're out there, could you measure between the front frame rails? No hurry and it'll save my back a little grief from crawling around on the floor measuring mine. I'm trying to get a handle on what headers might possibly fit my Rambler swap (26" rail to rail)...

    Thanks!
