Hello everyone, my name is Brad. I have always wanted a maverick, but had a hard time finding one that wasn't rusted out. I ended up going the fox body mustang route for a long time and had fun, but you see them everywhere! Lol. So I sold my last car over a year ago and had the itch as of late to get back in the scene. So after looking at few cars and traveling hours away, I found the perfect car only 30 minutes from my house! Lol It's a 74 maverick with 68k miles. An older couple bought it new and drove it for most of the miles until one day at a grocery store someone backed into her. She got scared and never drove it again. So as she passed it got handed down to her kids and they never did anything with it so they sold it to the guy I bought it from. So I'm technically the third owner. It has a few little dents in the passenger fender and door, but nothing we can't straighten out. The interior is next to mint! It has a 200 with a three on the tree. Factory orange with black interior with a "super soft" bench seat . I'm very excited to start this project. Even my wife and kids are excited! Lol. Well, until I start dipping into the check book . We are going to do the body work over the winter and get a set of wheels and tires for spring. Then I'll be doing the drivetrain after that. I want the car to sit like this one: Before we paint it I want to gather the parts for a small bumper conversion, so that's the first step. Sorry this was long, but just wanted y'all to know where I was coming from!
Thanks guys! It is a very clean car! I live just outside of Grand Rapids. About 3.5 hours from ya SlotlessMan.
Thank you for the welcome. And I just love that car! We are thinking of a darker metallic gray for paint, but I love how that car sits! My goal is to have a great little street car. Something with power, but still be able to throw the wife and kids in and go on a road trip.
