Last Wednesday at work I was speaking with one of the security staff about pulling my engine for a stroker rebuild, one of the bartenders overheard our conversation and asked if I would be interested in some heads or a Tremec TKO, of course being curious I said most likely I would, turns out he has a 306 roller motor with Edelbrock RPM heads for a 351W (he used the adapters for the 306) heads have roller rockers, screw in studs and guide plates, Edelbrock RPM intake is on the motor as well as chrome valve covers, it has the Tremec T5 and a Steeda shifter, complete package, going tomorrow to look it over, $800.00 is what he wants for it all.:bananaman:

I hope so, I don't know much about the Tremec TKO, are they decent transmissions?
Heads are worth what I am paying.

The TKO is quite a bit stronger than the T5. It's based on the Ford Toploader design.

Am I gonna run into problems installing the TKO in my Maverick? what will be needed, will stock stuff work or do I need special mount or drive shaft? I have a top loader 4 speed now.

We've installed two TKOs in two Comets .. A 75 347 Stroker , and a 408 Stroker two different blocks and we had to
raise the tunnel 3"inches to accomodate the tower on top of the tranny. The top loader has the shift linkage on the
SIDE of the tranny and the Tremec tower has it on TOP . You'll also most likely have to move the tranny mount back
also. Its a great setup and I think you'd appreciate it once installed. Worth the effort in MHO .

Well I'm BACK! sadly the tranny was not a TKO but it is a Tremec T5, the heads were what I really wanted but I went ahead and got it all, very clean engine inside, outside is oxidized a bit but should polish up nice, Ford Motorsport Valve covers, here's a pic of the head just as it was when I pulled the valve cover off, what kind of rockers are these? anybody know?
EDIT: I figured it out they are Crane Roller Rockers :yup:
    Oh and not a t5 but a 3550

Luckily it was on an engine stand! so now I have two engine stands, on another note, how can you tell the difference between a Tremec TKO and a Tremec 3550? it's definitely one or the other.

The 3550 output shaft is same as SB Toploader. The TKO has a larger diameter shaft.
