Does any one know if a 2000 Chrysler 300m BCM can 'stand alone' ? My 300 finally gave up so i was stripping it and though of trying to integrate it into the mav - Headlight switch poss heated seats etc. And if so does anyone know pin outs and signals that it actually looks for (EX. 5V to ground or an open/close of the circuit or "X" ohms etc. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated. Robb
If it was me I wouldn't fool with the BCM, just hard wire the features you want. I have a diagram for my 2007 300 but I doubt that will help you.
Ohhhhh ........... that is always an interesting question with these old cars. How much "new" technology can (or should) be moved over. If you are confident in your skills, pull everything out of the Chrysler including all the BCM stuff and go to town, make it fit and work. I actually find it most satisfying to make some of the "odd ball" stuff to work in the old cars.
Originally thats what i thought i would do but the heated seats, temp sensor/timer on off runs through the BCM (supposedly @ 5Volts although i cant confirm. you know how the internet is)as does the relay control for headlight switch, dimmer switch, the automatic lights and info center with compass and temp Blah-blah-blah...so in the end it also looks as though the BCM is wired into the fuse panel to 'switch/control" all of this and alot of the things that i wouldnt need. Like Auto heat/AC, moon roof etc. So alot of what I would like to do with it, would be alot more work wiring relays etc for me to do without using the BCM and some wouldnt be possible at all...... Thanks for offer of the diagrams. Thats what i like about the people on this board everyones willing to help out any way they can. Yeah i like to 'make stuff work" too especially thats out of the norm-to be be different-same as the cars we drive-with the same time and money we could do to a mustang 32 coupe camaro(cough cough) etc but wheres the 'uniqueness' in that? Besides its free in a round about way. And for a lack of better words I'm Cheap. I was kind of hoping someone worked as a tech for chrysler and could at least let me know if the BCM could stand alone and i could go from there...i guess worst case i'll rip apart the fuse panel and use that(leaky cowl rotted fuse holder clips) and see what else i can hardwire . I appreciate you guy responding. Any one else?? Ideas?? Thoughts?
