We were able to get our second win in a row at the NMCA Finals and come from behind to win the NMCA West series Championship in Outlaw 8.5 (26x8.5 slicks). We torched the heads on Friday night, but me and my crew chief/engine builder were able to stay up all nightr and tear it down, take the heads up to his shop, weld them, machine and surface them, and get it back together for racing the next day. Our first pass after fixing the motor was a 5.17 at 141 mph for the new class record.

We had to win the final round to claim the championship and were able to do it with a 5.20 at 140. Couldn't have been a better race weekend as we set the class record, won the race and won the championship.

Quite an honor and devotion to the sport a lot of people would have just loaded the car and went home, great to see the dedication. Great job

That's awesome! Great job with the bullet in that one.

Out of curiosity.. what size bullet is it? The more details the better!

Gary & I were at Va motorsports park in petersburg on Sat,(bb466) his luck was not as good.He lost in the first round & did a buy back then lost in that round too. However, his son was there running a 408 Ranger & made it to the semi finals where he red lighted. He had been turning 9.84 all day & when they drew Jenna Burks they put 9.82 on the trk to try to stop from breaking out.She is the toughest draw in foot break w/ a stock 89 GT mustang turning 12.85s,she is death on the tree. She lost to a Monza when she broke out,all in all,it was a great day w/ great weather & we had a great time. The Pro Stick cars had their championship race, last race of the yr,with Mark Charcalla taking taking the championship in his Mustang turning 8.33s in the qtr, congrats to him.

Congrats Eric, always love to see BLUE OVAL in the winners circle.I`m sure what you did was hard to do when like everyone else running Fords there are so many bowties around. There was a guy at Dinwiddie on Sat. w/ a little white LX street car that went 8.77,then lost his mtr or trans at the finish line,he had a procharger on his car. That`s why I personally am not a big fan of them (prochargers) for just that reason,my funds will be limited & I just can`t afford to get into the mtr all the time.
