I plan on using double sheer but want to get my actual coilovers before welding on the tabs so that I don't have to redo it. These are just to see if the angles are right and approximate ride Before forking out the $$.

I can see you not using the lower stud at all because, even if you attached a double shear bracket to it, you would still have it mounted to a single shear stud. Eliminate the stud completely but still use your existing red lower mount - Just weld a new double shear bracket to it or build one that bolts into the 4 existing U-bolts :tiphat:

i would use 2 tabs welded to a plate that bolts on to multiple holes in the bracket you have attached to the housing.

Nice level stance - are the real coil over shocks, that you are going to be using, the type that can be adjusted with the threaded ring using a spanner wrench? That will help you tweak the ride height :thumbs2:

Yes they will be adjustable. My main goal for this car is to have a firm but smooth suspension that is fully adjustable for neutral handing and capable of handling well over the 300HP I plan to produce.

love that ride height. if you use off the shelf long tube headers, they will be sitting on the ground at the height. shortys or custom headers will be required to keep any ground clearance.

Very nice with the Watts cradle in place now - have you determined how a vertical adjustment on the Watts pivot will affect the handling of the car?

Im not sure what your asking. But the vertical adjustment is for roll center.

I had a Watts in a circle track car but only had a chance to run it once - I just had the 2 bars level and it ran like a raped ape - I never had a chance to play with the vertical adjustment to see what difference it would make - was just wondering what you had learned about it :)

From the research I did the adjustment should alter how much weight the rear transfers in corners. (The lower the watts is the more leverage the center of gravity has to throw weight around) in the rear.
    Is my understanding.

Can somebody give me an idea of the weight on the rear of a stock car. So I can find the right spring rate for coils.
