Yes...you can get a new data sticker from Marti Auto Works. If yours is still in good shape....I would leave it on there. One can still spot an original versus a repop.

Had a little time to tinker this weekend.Cleaned the points, swapped the coil and got the car to fire. wont run on its own though, had to pour gas in the carb. Going to rebuild the carb and try again. I know its kind of pointless, but I would like to put it in the garage under its own power.

rebuilt the carb and bingo! She runs on her own! Next I will swap the gas tank so it can run like it should. Its pulling gas from a coffee can right now.

Swapped in very nice gas tank that I snagged from a Comet I parted out. Gas guage works! Also ordered a new carb.

Are you going to stay with a 2 barrel carb ? I keep telling myself when I pick up the new sprint, I'm going to keep it all stock. I have a problem (sickness) with modifying everything...lol

I was going to do a stock restoration, but now Im leaning towards a mild build on the 302. I ordered a stock 2 barrel for now, but will go 4 when the time comes.

Looks good! Aren't you afraid of damaging some of your fresh work while fixing the floors? And a question I've been wondering about for my own car, how do you plan on painting the heater control plate and restoring the lettering on it?

Im not worried about hurting the paint. As for the heater bezel, I am masking off the black section, dying the blue and using a silver paint marker to put the lettering back. If I remember right, I did it different in the convertible. I may have taken a razor blade and scrapped off the paint from the lettering so the light would shine through.

I would be more worried about the new headliner - I had sparks flying everywhere when I fixed my floors :)

Great job on the headliner. Have to agree, doing the floor first, wud'nt take a chance on getting the prudy headliner burned or soiled. Otherwise, I like it.

I wasn't going to say anything because I know I will get bashed for it. This car is just gonna be a nice 20

footer to enjoy for a few years before swapping over most of it into a better shell. I realize its a lot of work and money being spent, but I am getting much needed experience with this stuff. You cant put a price on that. So as
for the floors, they are getting coated in rust encapsulator, patched with sheet metal, screwed down and seam sealed. I know its wrong and I hate to disappoint some of you. There are other areas of the car that will crap out before my floor patches do. Let the bashing begin, I am a big boy, I can take it.
