Found this one right around the corner from my eye doctor today, wish I had room for it. Floor pans are like new, bright yellow paint with some remnants of the sound deadener. The hood was real nice except the back corners, looked like they had been bent somehow. Bench seat car with a six and an auto and even has the 93 in the VIN.
I wonder if this was the one in WA that was left on the side of the road and auctioned-off at a towing company? http://mmb.maverick.to/threads/won-my-71-grabber-parts-car-at-the-auction-pics.92130/ Did you happen to get the whole VIN???
I didn't get the VIN, just glanced to see if it was a real deal Grabber. I'm pretty sure it isn't the same car Matt picked up, he said the pans were rusty in that one and these looked like new.
I got to go see this one today it was listed for sale on craigslist and I called the guy and told him I just wanted to check it out and no chance of me buying it and he said come on over!
had this guy come by for parts a while back this guy lives 10 minutes from me and Ive never spotted his car
notice anything different about it? I mean other than stock? it has some very subtle changes that make this car look great probably the nicest car in town except for mine of course
the drag car has a 460 bored out to a 556 if I remember right running two big ol bottles of nos said it has 15 to 1 complression
With the drag car, it took a little bit of time for the engine setback to sink in ... no cowl! Look where the radiator is, too.
Went by the other day and looked at the vin, it's 1K93U122869. This is the car Junrai is getting the hood and spoiler from. There is a front valance in it that looks rough as well as the grabber grill but I couldn't see it the mounting points were intact. Here's the old CL ad, not sure where it started out but it's a far cry from where the pictures were taken! http://yakima.craigslist.org/cto/4795225768.html The floors are in really nice shape too. I'm still tempted to see what he wants for whats left.....
WOW! Those floor pans are some nice! Whatever is left should make someone a solid shell to build on, assuming the cowl is solid and doesn't leak. After the hood and spoiler are gone, I would imagine the rest of the car would go pretty cheap?? I see the owner has another Maverick in the background that looks more roadworthy. Thanks for getting the VIN. I have added it to our VIN List, which Stefan has massaged into a "Resource" for us: http://mmb.maverick.to/resources/categories/maverick-comet-vin-list.12/
