So Lucy is up in the shop (since Tuesday) for what was supposed to be a simple four hour 'convertible top swap'... Being the spiritual successor to Alice, she is quote 'giving them hell' with her new top, going down at different speeds and therefore risking breaking her heated glass rear window. Note that they didn't actually need to do anything (at first) to the actual motorized parts, just the frame, but someone must have told her that it's not coming out of my pocket but the dealerships, and her cash detector went full 440... I might go and suggest a blood sacrifice next, as Alice was never happy until she bit someone.
I always like that vintage Mustang. Any customizing plans or just biding time until another Maverick comes along? Bruce
Oh I LOVE her - Of course I'm going to dress her up a bit - Heck, we've already started technically! She originally came with a tan top and left the shop today with the black sailcloth. Only problem is, during those three weeks she was in the shop, somehow a wire in her stereo got loose and now all I have is the sweet sound of the duel Flowmasters. I need to find someone in Seattle who can reattach it in exchange for a couple Pappa Murphie's Pizzas...
If I had the time and money, and the guy was willing ti part with her (unless the dreaded worse had happened) I'd buy back Alice. She'll always be my <3 car.
Thanks - she's actually Forest green, had a camel coloured top when I got her, She's Alice's spiritual successor, so I like the fact that I don't want her to look like every other Mustang I see (most are Red, black or blue) but she was doing 85 on the 405 yesterday without even breathing hard... and like Alice, she runs better with hard rock on the radio.
