The headlights dont work and I found a plug hanging under the dash by the gas petal I think it has something to do with the headlights but can't find anywhere it plugs in any ideas?
Welcome to the forum. It wud help ur cause to post some pic of the wire so folks can see what wire ur questioning. There are lots of wires under these dashes. There can be several reasons the headlites are not working, bad grounds, burned out bulbs, corrosion in the sockets, etc., etc. I believe u have to have 10 posts to add pictures.
AFAIK all the headlight related wiring is on the left side of dash ... Power is fed to HL switch on a yellow wire then distributed down to dimmer switch and back through firewall connector to lights... If the high beam indicator is operating the problem isn't the headlight switch, if not then check the the headlight and high beam switches...
If the plug is on the far left and touching the floor...it might be the plug that goes to the beam selector.
Oh I figured it out I didn't realize the high beam switch is on the floor and I don't have a floor pan in there therefore I don't have a high beam switch my bad guys that was stupid on my part
Even without the high beam switch in there tho shouldn't my headlights still work just not have high beams?
Jim's Maverick Just for the record - you can post a picture to the forum threads with less than 10 posts. You need 10 posts to upload to the gallery
Power comes from the battery to the headlight switch then to the beam selector. The beam selector then sends power to the headlights. Without the beam selector the power has no where to go. The beam selector has 3 wires...power in...low beam out and high beam out.
