What do you guys think about stainless steel floor pans? I need to replace the pans and my dad says he's got a piece of stainless I could use
Lots of folks on the forum use Mustang pans w/ some minor mods needed. Making stainless work I believe wud require a lot more work. Just cuz u have it - not necessarily the best way to go. Welcome to the forum from ne Illinois.
This is just my personal opinion but I think your wasting your time with stainless. Go with Mustang floors or just use some plain ol' sheet metal! Remember, just my opinion!
I just have no money and the stainless is free that's why I thought it would be ok I know it won't look perfect but I'm hoping it works
Go for it, I had a car in high school that had the bottom section of a screen door screwed into what was left of the floor. In an effort to seal it they used tar and linoleum over the top. Wasn't pretty but it worked.
I have worked on Army helicopters for the last 28 years and putting dissimilar metals together is just asking for bigger troubles down the road as MAVAHOLIC stated in an earlier post. It can be done but I would start looking for a bigger patch panel than what you need now for later down the road..
