Think I finally found my front wheels! Headed out at midnight tonight to be in Kentucky by 9:00 AM to pick up a set. I always like to touch before I buy, bought too many pieces of crap without seeing them first. 8.5 hours each way, fun times. Same distance we went last weekend to get the Henry J but in the other direction. Hopefully, pictures tomorrow evening if things go well. SPark
Picked them up this morning. Shelbyville, KY. A nice 17 hour round trip, most of the trip down was in thunderstorms and fairly heavy rains at times. Left home at 11:00 Saturday night and got back home at 4:30 Sunday afternoon. Fun times. Too tired to post anything tonight, will get things cleaned up, sorted out and post some pics tomorrow. SPark
Here's what I got Sunday morning. The wheels are for the Maverick and the tires will probably end up on the Henry J. Already have the M/T tires on them and the car is sitting on them now. IT looks a lot better than the Fenton R/T wheels I was using. SPark
Nice, years ago we had stacks of those wheels kicking around, no one wanted them. I should have kept them all.
They bring $500 a pair really easily right now. The 15x3.5 and 15x4 are the worst to buy. These are 3.5 wide. Hard to spend that much on a wheel you could buy new in 1970 $49.95! Have to have them to be "right" with the build. SPark

I like the gasser style also. At a car show this last spring, I sugested to a friend that I had thoughts of making one out of mine and he informed me that mine was too nice and too original yet to do that to it. Someday I might get the right vehicle to attempt it...
Quick update! I traded my '66 F100 for a '51 Henry J gasser project last summer. Then, I had several people contact me about the Henry J after I got it, so........... I traded it for a '37 Ford 2 door sedan this past weekend. This car has been sitting in a garage since 1956. It is rust free and a 46,012 mile original but it is missing the engine and tranny. It came with a fresh 302 (never fired re-man that I won't be using) and an AOD tranny. Also a 4 bar kit for the front (I also have a Heidts polished stainless and chrome setup so I'll probably go that route) and a composite parallel leaf rear suspension kit. Came with a lot of new parts and a clear title. This is going to sit in the corner as I work on the Maverick and my '62 Unibody first. Have gathered a few more parts for the Maverick (engine parts, gauges, few other minor pieces) but haven't been able to do much work lately since my heart has been out of rhythm since Thanksgiving (AFIB). Got that reset last week so it's back to playing! Later, SPark
That 37 looks way better than a Henry J anyday! Throw a motor and tranny in it, and drive it just like it is.
Interesting, I just had a friend buy a 37............a nice driver even if it does have a Chevy in it. Also, sorry to hear about your heart condition.........I've got the same thing and have been under the paddles twice to get it back into sync. Keep us posted on the 70.
