For you comet guys realized not sequential, but I'm sure someone could figure oit how to mod it that way http://www.mustangproject.com/ProductDisplay.aspx?ID=907b6132-7048-47e6-83c2-6357eaaf0ca5
LEDs are the way to go . Been running them for years . There is a much simpler approach and far less expensive. I installed SINGLE LED bulbs in each socket and painted the inner housings FLAT White . There is an "bit" on my website wwwcameoclub.com under Restomod category . Cometized (Chip)
Just a footnote on the LED lights for a Comet Taillight assembly. The selection of the BULBS is important .. there are some offered by the local auto stores that just don't do it .. I got mine from another source here in Deland , FL and I have the bulb number if anyone is interested. Thanks. Cometized (Chip)
Just checked Cree's website .. they have a lot of bulbs which are similar to the bulbs I've already installed.. Maybe the next car I might try these .. Cree is a little pricey for an 1157 ($ 22.95 per bulb ) that equates to just under $ 100.00 for taillights for my Comet .. but thanks for the tip . Cometized (Chip)
Heres a cheap way to make them sequence using regular relays that i found on another board. i found a clearer picture
Hi Joe: About the taillights .. We installed an Extra taillight bulb in the Maverick setup just to the inside of the Back-up Light .. There wasn't enough room for a double contact bulb for Brake Lights .. but the taillight is as bright as the original and is activated when the taillights are ON . Simple procedure. If you're interested lemmeno and I'll send some info. Cometized (Chip)
Chip I am interested in doing LED lights for better visibility for those behind me(everybody)...the info would be welcome...when I get done the the projects I'm working on(new motor, trans, rear) I'll tackle the lights and hide the wires...and then.....
I'm interested to know if the use of white reflectors changes the hue of the lens in heavy direct sunlight? Maybe just a little lighter red.. or "pastel like"?
Hi Joe: Check out the category "restomods" on my site www.cameoclub.com there is a small bit about the LEDs on there or when I I'll be glad to give you more in depth information when you're ready .
Sure. But you know what I was getting at though, right? When/if you stood back and looked at lenses in direct sunlight in comparison to another Maverick parked right beside you, does the RED color look slightly washed.. or pasteled in any way?
