I went to Wild Horse Pass Motorplex last nite for the Friday night drags with the Mav.

Made 4 passes total, 2 of them I missed third gear on. All passes were made on the E70/14 skinny tires in the pic. Car#239

Good times for sure, you're getting it to the top pretty quick.

114 MPH. Plenty of steam under the hood for a street car.

While I surely understand the "skinny tire" sleeper concept for the street, especially if money is involved, why would you even run that tire at the track?

Simply to see what they can do before you actually put some real rubber on to go pick up the other 1/2 second and 4 mph over what you're current timeslip shows? lol

With more grip.. that's a solid high 11 second car even in 100 degree weather, you got right there. Just need to take advantage of its lighter weight and get it moving quicker in the first 330 ft or so, is all.

    Nice!!!

I'll agree with the tire observation, that car will be killer with traction...

Yes groberts101. To see what it will do in street trim first. I have some 26x8 QTP's to put on it later. Thanks

It won't be the same car with those QTPs...

With dinky 225/50 Nitto DR I sprayed my 3750Lb(with me) T-Bird to a 12.23@112, short time was 1.72... Without the spray it'd pull low 1.90 and with street tire maybe 2.10...

I saw the car at WHP Saturday. How come it left being towed? I didn't see any one at the car until it left.

Both rear shocks broke on the last pass. I had some nasty wheel hop on the last launch.

    awww snap!

Why so much wheel-hop with those little tires? Incorrect pre-load?

Picture give's me a limited view but it looks to me like the shocks over extended and snapped on launch. Couple that with a little twisting at that angle and they become a weak point. Also you can get a lot of wheel hop with out rear shocks.

Not really sure why on the last run.
They are air shocks that I used to level out the car. Served the purpose for to and from car shows but no good for the track. I will have to do it right now and either re-arch the springs or add a helper spring and put my adjustable shocks back on.
