Glad I could help. If you are not already doing so, I back way off the Caltracs when I'm running on the street and bring them back to a half turn once at the track. Makes for a lot better ride.

A word of caution. I believe you are running slicks on the car. Make sure your daughter understands how dangerous they are in rain. Even getting caught in a downpour on the return lane can end-up being a catastrophe if the driver is unaware of the potential danger!

I run drag radials which are street legal, and cannot go over 40 - 45 mph in rain. Even at a steady speed the tires will begin to loose traction. Makes for a white knuckle ride.

Sorry...they're still sitting in the corner. I've had a whole lot going on this year, and just haven't gotten the chance to get them on. I also have the rear spring sliders as well, and am planning on this being a project this winter. My buddy who runs a chassis shop has me penciled in for a January visit lol. Planning a certified 8.50 chromemoly cage, and mini-tub so I can run a bigger tire. I'm punishing the little 26x9 Hoosiers pretty good right now! Starting to become an issue on race day. Car has had a best 60' of 1.35, but even on a slightly marginal track, it's been spinning more than I care for lately, which has cost me at least 3 rounds this year. I've even considered doing a full rear clip and just tubbing it all the way, but am resisting that urge so far. My buddy, brother, and nephew are all lobbying pretty hard though, so we'll see.

I enjoy telling the story at the track about how the car has factory 1971 leaf springs, replacement AutoZone rear shocks in their original location, and a homemade set of CalTracs ripping off 1.3x 60's...but I enjoy going rounds better lol.

If you are going to do all the work to mini tube it you should just do the back half. The car will work better and be a safer car. I just had mine back halved after running it with caltraks in the mid 10s for 3 years. The car feels so much safer and more consistent and after the wreck I had four year ago the safer the better.

Do you have any pictures of the back half they did? Also what did it cost you if you don't mind me asking. I was considering moving the stock leafs inside the frame rail this winter and a mini tub but may not be cost effective compared to doing a backhalf
