Rear seat fitment

Searched the archives but couldn't find anything about rear seat fitment. Will all 70-77 rear seats interchange or is there a difference? I'm thinking 74-77 are different from 70-73?

 

2-door is different from 4-door across the board.

1970-Early 1972 are the same.
Mid 1972-1977 are the same.

 

Good point regarding 2dr vs 4dr. How are the early and late 72 seats different. Found a set that are 72 but don't know if they are early or late

 

If I remember correctly the early seats are slightly wider than the later models. The later models have the seat belts in the trim.

 

I put early back seat in Patches (73) you have to swap the side plastic panels also.

 

It all has to do with the rear seat belts. The 1970-early 1972 cars did not have rear retractable belts. When they went to retractable belts, the side panels got "humps" in the sides to cover the retractors, and the seat was changed for that.

 

I did a rear seatbelt delete...
