Wow, I had no idea it would be so close. I always thought I would like the clear ones better (and they are definitely nicer in the dark) I found myself liking the amber a bit more to my surprise. I just need a really clean (NOS) set. I just saw a clear NOS pair in the box for 40 bux buy it now on ebay. Gotta keep my eyes peeled for an amber set. Thanks for the opinions. I find it intersting how evenly split the poll is.

i was looking at a mustang 99-04 and noticed its fog lights are close to the same shape as a mavs turn signals. i was thinking thats a good sorce to put fog lights that were desgined as fog lights on our cars.

Since the poll is split 50/50. why dont you have a clear lens on one side and an amber one on the other side? ;)

AMBER all the way !! The idea of these lights is to be " noticed" .. Even in daytime hours the Amber stands 0ut..
Actually you can run CLEAR with an Amber Bulb. I have Amber lenses AND bulbs in a 70 and 72 Maverick,
and a 74 Comet .. I converted the turn signal housings in the Comet Grille to " Sport Lights " with LED's and I removed the bombsite chrome and installed CLEAR lenses .. Works great .. I'am sending a set of these lenses and
light housings to EASY PERFORMANCE so they can construct a LED set up for these lights .. I would like to have an even BRIGHTER display in this area since they are pretty much " tucked away" under the bumpers. In case anyone out there is interested I'll let everyone know when I get them back and put a video up showing the differences.

I like the orange better on your car and any car for the lower turn signals and the grill lights clear

if the clear lenses werent so much like glass (that clear) I would probably go with clear. I just dont like seeing the actual inside of the housing. I think its ugly and takes away from the car. I know you dont really see them when theyre installed but Im retarded like that. even on my black car thats just roller painted I still have to look at every little thing to make sure it goes good painted not painted clear orange etc...

nice car btw I like the orange and the matching painted bumper. it looks really nice

It's required in Washington (to my understanding) that the turn signals on the front be amber in color. If you have clear lenses they need to have amber bulbs. Myself I prefer the clear with the amber bulbs.

    ZOMBIE THREAD ................ :taz:

I've had several NOS '70 front signal assemblies - all came from the factory with the amber bulb.

According what year the car is. My 60 Falcon came from the factory with clear lens. 63's got amber lens. If I remember correctly the amber bulbs came out in the mid-late 60's. That being said...they can't ticket you if the factory used clear lens and clear bulbs. Same story with seatbelts. Back in the day if you wanted seatbelts then you had to pay extra (if it was an option). I had to get the local police to call a state trooper to get educated on the law to save me from getting a ticket. I'm not going to get into butting heads with a state safety inspection for not having backup lights.
