It is tight. I might step down a size when I need new tires. I will have to wait and see how it is when it's back on the road.

Got my bumpers from Mel all cleaned up. They aren't perfect, but they'll do just fine till I get the rechromed. Next weekend I'm bringing it over to my buddy's house to start the body work. I wouldn't touch it yet, but the wife is ashamed to ride in a car that will be 4 different colors! Women. So it's not going to be a repaint yet. Just going to straighten it out and get it in primer. Once I'm done doing the mechanical work then we will paint it.

Okay, so I have been slacking on my updates, but things have been moving quickly. I will post some pics up to where it sits right now.

That's where it sits today. I have to mount my battery in the trunk and hook up my radiator, then she is ready to fire up. I also have to swap my front brakes over to my 13" cobra brakes. I ordered new rear shocks and 1/4" wheel spacers for the rear. I don't know what springs this thing came with, but they didn't drop at all by putting the motor in. I will be chopping the front coils and lowering the rear with blocks for now. The rear disc swap will have to hold off till next year as my wife says I'm getting low on my car fund :) I have a 302 out of a 89 Grand Marquis. That will get built over the next couple of years.

I also have a grabber stripe kit for a 70 in gloss black. Wanted to go with the matte, but wasn't sure how it would be if I waxed the car and that kind of stuff. I will wait though till everything is all back together before I worry about putting the decals on.

I wouldn't cut or lower anything until you get it all together.

That was kind of the plan, but I like the idea of messing with it before I put the fenders back on. I will take your advice though as you've done this more than me! :)

'Looks excellent. I love the wheels, especially the center caps. Where did you get those?
Definitely put a V-8 in it.

Thanks Larry. I ordered the center caps from http://dashman.net He makes them for a variety of wheels. A little spendy for what they are, but a hell of a lot better than the cheap plastic ones that come with the wheels. And there will be a v8 in it, but just don't have the funds to build it yet. And this car only has 68k miles on it, so that little 200 will get me by for awhile.

Fantastic progress pics! What size wheel and tire is that on the rear? They look great.

Thank you Rasit. The wheels are 17x8 with a 4.5" BS. The tires are 275/40's. I will run a 1/4" spacer on the back just to give me a little bit more clearance. The perfect wheel would of been a 17x9 with a 4.25 BS, but that was not an option with these wheels. Someday in the far off future I might get a different set or have these ones widened if possible.

Looking sweet! I can already tell that there will be a set of 275s in my future.

I think you're gonna have problems with those rear tires, unless you jack the rear up real high (which would look terrible).

You could be correct Larry, but I am not seeing any kind of clearance issue. I'm actually going to lower it an inch or two depending on where it all sits when it's together. Right now the wheel lip is over 2 inches higher and about 1.5 inches away from the side. Plus the lip is rolled. I guess I'll let you know how it goes.
