Put the Maverick on the ground ........ Its not done , but I am ready to take to the strip for a shake down run or two. Test the brakes and see what kind of a burn out I can do. Local 1/8 mile track Irwindale.
gotta keep the inspiration going..... its look at the background every time he goes in the garage or look at his car the car changed a bit since the last time I saw it Im almost positive thats the same car
Yes that is the car when I got it from Hall bros , after I paint it the original owner and Hall Bros wouldn't beleive it's the same car. Still have some things to do, but the car it self is updated and has a little class now. This car was raced hard and put away wet.
I saw it was all bussiness when I went to look at it. I could see it needed some stuff but that big block and lots of nitrous had me goin there for a minute. if I had anywhere close to the price they were asking I prolly wouldve bought it lol what have you done besides add a dash and change the floor pan and add a cowl to the hood? it seemed to run pretty good when we last saw it
Replace ALL the tin work and added the dash panel. the car had No fit and Finish to the firewall and rear tubs. I never saw a burn out and I can tell you that he couldn't see shit with all the smoke in the car. Poor workmanship. Added a Crossmember and new ladder bar mounts. Put new motor mounts in. Rebuilt the front struts and longer springs. Moved the brake pedal and master cylinder. Trashed his seat and put two seats in along with complete new seat belt anchors welded to the frame. New electrical and re-plumbed it with something that will pass tech. Totally differant car now. I got it without the motor for a reasonable price, maybe should of held out and I would of got it cheaper.
no motor okay yeah I remember him offering it up either way. I can remember him saying $8k for the motor and I thought it was pretty high but then again if it was what they said it was EXPENSIVE to build. I know big block parts are expensive and with my small block having cost right about $15k he had to have spent atleast that for his. curious why you put longer springs on it? bring the nose up? what engine are you running in it now?
460 pump gas motor @ about 500 hp to the rear wheels. 2900 pounds and looking to go 10.6. The front was needed more spring.
got the chassis and Trans for 4,000, the motor went for 5,000. The car didn't show well without the motor and if I was willing to wait it would have been cheaper is my guess.
sounds like you got a pretty decent deal. I dont know if you could put it together for that. I spent 2000 on my transmission with only a mild shift kit and 2500 stall
