Bought an aftermarket belly bar that ties in the lower control arms and a Monte Carlo bar too & im going to box in the front lower control arms and add prothane bushings on the strut bar & next check ill be ordering the frame connectors. Just put traction bars on guy had them in his garage brand new from the late 70s hopefully this will make it ok to handle the 450-500 HP thats in it .it used to flex pretty good

Dont use poly bushings on the strut rods...Too rigid, they cause the rods to snap right where the threads end on them.

The heim joint creates a point where the bar can move. Thus relieving the stress/bind that you get with the original and poly bushings.

Same stuff...Stick with rubber bushings on the strut rods, you'll be just fine.

Take the prothane bushing off. They can kill you... Rubber bushings only on the strut rod....

Talked to the guy at prothane he guarantees that they won't break the strut rods . He said we wouldn't make them if they did.

You talked to two guys right here that said they guarantee that they will break the strut rods. The reason they make them is to make money selling them. Why do you think Ford made thick rubber mounts? They could had made them with thinner material and saved millions of dollars.

And his job is to sell his product...
They also make air shocks for Mavericks but no one that understands how a Maverick is built would run them.

ive had them brake from the pst polygraphite bushings. ive seen them brake on other cars. i cant say if prothane ones have broken them but the strut rods need the flexibility of rubber.
