70 Ranchero GT that I picked up from a friend. It's an older restoration that my friend lost interest in. No keys to the doors or ignition and water somehow leaked into the engine (most likely the timing cover corroded and allowed water into the pan). Converted to a shaker using original parts, 351C , AC, 3.00 LSD 9 in, bucket seats, console, power brakes and disc. The paint began cracking for an unknown reason, should be a good driver.
I likey... Had a yellow '71 with 2bbl Cleveland, but it was a damn Squire... Soon sold it in favor of a '69 Ranchero 500...
That's sweet! I love that bodystyle Torino/Ranchero. Is that a fiberglass cover? I've got one that is missing the mounting to the bed, and lift spring mounts. If you could tke some pics, and measurements of those, that would help me a ton!
unless it was mod'd for the later trim package.. that's a '71 GT. 70's had the small hashmarks at the rear of the lazer stripes.. '71's had that lower rocker trim like yours does. Had a '71 GT with the SCJ, Ranchero with a 351, and Fairlane 500 wagon with a hot little 302. All very nice daily driver cars.
It's a 70 gt with 71 gt trim, the previous owner liked the 71 trim better. When he restored it he made the changes.
I have had three different Torinos. My first was a 70 GT with a 351 2V and a four speed, it was originally yellow but later repainted maroon. The next two were the same color, one was a 71 with a black vinyl top 302 C4 and the last was the one I wish I still had. I had no idea how few were made at the time so I let it go. It was a 70 Type N/W with a 351 4V FMX I bought for $100 and a cheap set of tires.
