Finally finished off the list yesterday. The car was inspected today and cleared to harass unsuspecting commuters at will.

The new carpet was only 5 lbs heavier than what I took out. The interior sounds quieter with the new sound deadening, carpet and the exhaust shield. I can actually hear the bark of the exhaust much more than drone now.

I decided to hold off on the EFI wiring harness changes for fear of messing something up so close to the events Im targeting.

I still have a few cleanup items on my list. I want to reinstall the inner side panels with some of this sound deadening affixed to the back of it the same way it came with jute from the factory. That should quiet things down a little more. Still need to reinstall the harness bar and get the go-pro charged up. Been a while since I've shot video and Bryants videos are making me jealous.

The car should be right at 3200. I'll get RideTech to weigh it for me this weekend. It will be weighed again for USCA to make sure I am in the right class. 3200 is the low end limit for the GT-Vintage Class. I could drop some weight by not having the subwoofer but that would put me in the GT-Light class with the Evo's, and C5 Vettes. Not that I stand much of a chance anywhere but that class (with last years champion) is not the place for me and the Mav.

Looks like the local SCCA is splitting CAM into CAM-S and CAM-T so I will be in CAM-S due to the wheel base which sucks because is more of a Camaro/Mustang, kind of car than a Corvette/Cobra kind of car.

Im a little late to the game, but I did read all 26 pages of this build (it was a little slow at work today). Very nice! Did you ever figure out your clutch? I believe you said you had a lot of preload to get the clutch to actuate in the right spot. Did you wind up putting a spacer on the pivot ball?

we got split the same way. so in cam t, they usually have around 10 cars at each event and cam s has only 3. Bryce with his light weight falcon, Alcino with his mustang II cobra (won cam last year) and me. Alcinos car is about the same weight as my car (2800ish). we had a 68 corvette come when nationals was here and it was just getting started on being built. it had some suspension mods and a smog motor in it. the driver was multi time champion and he was running right behind alcino on his 3rd run. if his car was fully prepped, it would have beat everybody by several seconds.

i heard the reason the s class was formed was for 2 cars that are on the east coast, an ac cobra kit car and a 60s corvette that is all carbon fiber and tube chassis. both weigh around 2300 lbs! just to acomadate 2 crazy custom cars, all the under 108 wheel base cars or under 3000 lb cars cant play with the rest of the muscle cars! it sucks. the cars leading in cam t are running with in a few tenths of alcino's mustang II. one of them is a dodge valient with a stock 318, heavier torsion bars, and sway bars. a little more power and he should be running faster than the mustang II.

so how doest the cam s class look in your area?

Our CAM class is suffering here. There are 5 in CAM-C and 1 CAM-S for this weekend. I'm not sure I am going to be able to make it. Too many family obligations. I havent given up though. I really think they go tit wrong with CAM-S. S should be for Sports car (as in factory 2-seater) and not Short wheel base.

You don't want to put a Chevy in a Ford that's just a sin there is nothing worse than seeing a nice Ford at a car show then get up close and there is a Chevy engine in it, that's just taking the cheap way out. There should be a law against that.

An exception to what? If you want a Chevy motor go get a camaro if you have a Ford keep a Ford engine in it.that's just a disgrace when someone does that ,it ruins the car.there is nothing worse than when you see a nice Ford and get close and look under the hood and there is a Chevy in it ,that's just wrong it ruins the car. Plain and simple its just wrong if that's what you want go buy a Chevy . BOW TIES DONT BELONG IN FORDS!!!!

Nice job bud, quoting a reply over 2 years old. You'd be surprised at what a little LS 5.3 can do.

You obviously have no clue of what hot rodding is about. Who decided it was a disgrace? The only drawback I see is that if you've seen one 32 Ford with a smallblock Chevy, you've seen 'em all (just a little too common), but who decided that like brands need to stay with like brands? I have no brand loyalty when it comes to cars. I just love nice cars.

Gentlemen, let's not go screwing up Chris's build thread beating a dead horse, if you want to banter about cross breeding power plants, please go start a new thread. I personally would like to see him continue updating this thread as he makes changes and would hate it if your little argument causes him to abandon the thread.
