Hey Guys, sorry for the long absence. I was building an off the hook Mav in Venezuela for a Speed Shop I co-owned down there. Long story short, the political climate in Venezuela changed so I had to come home, selling off the Mav to an associate there. Did NOT get to finish it, but the little 347 was HOT.

So now to chapter 2. I now work at Bz's Rods as a welder fabricator. Check out our facebook page. With the explosion of vintage racing, we specialize in old school, period correct, and even gassers.

So, I got another Mav (yes, I too had one in HS and have had the itch to build one since). It's a 72 Grabber, all original and in pretty good shape. Yea, maybe I should find a shell for the project I have in mind, but I wanted one with all the pieces there to get started.

So, here is the deal. While the Venezuelan Mav was going with 347, 4 speed, 9 inch, and airride, this new one is going old school: think of the Gap and Roush and Fast Eddie Mav's with Boss 429. They were considered "pro-stock" but I want something totally unique. My shop specializes in unique, so....

1.) Removal of complete subframe front and rear
2.) Custom bent 2x3 square tube full length frame rails (yes they will come through the floor -about one inch-in cabin and slightly in trunk to mount fuel cell, attach cage to...)
3.) Custom in- house built ladder car/coil-over/wheelie bar setup with bullet proof 9 inch.
4.) Custom built straight axle front end mounted to new 2x3 chassis (I'm 44 and not traditionally a "gasser" fan, but I do want something unique-so think of a pro-stock look with a slightly raised front end....none of that sky high crap)
5.) It will be mini tubbed and have a 12 point cage
6.) I am a die-hard Ford guy, and Jon Kaase IS the man. sooooo 600 cubes of Ford Big Block, with Kaase Boss 9 heads, BDS *71, and probably a hidden electronic fuel injection setup from Alky Diggers that resembles the old fuel hat style injection.
7.) A custom built Toploader for banging the gears

Now, I am a retired cop (got banged up medically) so the theme will be silver and black and called the "Lawman Express" I belong to a program called Beat the Heat which uses track racing to keep kids off the street and I would like to get into the Nostalgia class too.

So, that's it for now. Let me know what you think and where I post to the garage area so you guys can follow along....

    Rob
