I think I am done with the car. Putting it up for sale.

Letting you guys get first chance at it, since you have a pretty good idea of what I have, and what is left to complete it.

It has sat in a garage for 3 years with no work done on it, and now needs a carb tune, and I keep bumping into it putting scratches, dings, etc. on it.

I don't want it to fall into further disrepair before someone else gets a chance to enjoy it.

    Anyone interested?

Well one thing is for sure there is plenty of documentation about what has been done to it through out the years

    Isn't THAT the truth?!?!?

I have used that thing for so many different experiments, and have learned so much from it.

But now I have too many other toys and hobbies, and this one has got to go. This one has always been a mostly-solitary hobby, other than the help I got from you guys, and a couple of local friends.

My other hobbies are able to include the entire family, not just me crawling under that car on nights when I had insomnia.

Think hard about it. My car has set for a good part of the ten plus years we have lived in Wyoming. Bet I haven't went thru 3 tanks of fuel, I thought of selling before but its been in my life for nearly 35 years, longer than I have been married and my older then my kids. Cars do become part of the family, I cant image my garage without it. Also, guess what the itch is back to work and race the car again. So Please....think hard about letting her go!

I have thought hard, and attempted to put it up for sale each summer for the past three years, but keep getting talked out of it. I think I found a guy who is willing to take good care of her...

When we move to Oregon, we will be dragging along a travel trailer (home), the boat, and a golf cart. If I keep the maverick, that would require having it shipped or coming back down to Texas and hauling it back up through the mountains.

We are trying to downsize our lives, and get rid of as much extra stuff as possible. Might even go full-time RVers. Don't need all those toys for that kind of lifestyle.

Understandable. You know if comes down to it You can always spread Della to the wind and she'll live on in other Mavericks & comets. I seen parts I would love to have but Somebody should take the ol'gal out and fix'er up (y)

Too many of these old cars get scrapped, crushed and or tossed away like forgotten toys

I remember you talking about this before, you have the same reasons and that tells me you're on the right track. I was there with my GTO, drug that car around for 20 years and the only thing I miss about it was how brutally quick it was (for a budget street car). Momma and the kids are what's important, the car can be replaced if you change your mind.

What part of Oregon? Surely somewhere by the water I presume...

Not sure yet. I have applied for a couple of jobs, coastal towns, Eugene, near Portland. We are cool with the coast, mountains, or high desert. Depends on what we find when we get there, both home-wise and job-wise.

We have a wedding in Seattle this summer, so we will drag the travel trailer and tour the upper half of Oregon on our way home. We will have a better idea after that.

We are both already licensed to work our professions in Oregon, so it is only a matter of one of us snagging a job to help us decide where we will live.

Anywhere along the Columbia will give you access to great boating and fishing. I love visiting the Portland area but couldn't live there, I'm too accustom to the dry east side!

Yeah, the wife has already found some RV parks on the Columbia, on both shores. Looks AWESOME!

I doubt we could live in Portland, I just assume it is too expensive for us. Also, I am trying to get out of the big city, part of why we are moving. Even though we live on a 700 acre cow ranch 45 minutes out of Houston, there is still traffic congestion way out here as soon as we get on the roads. I am getting sick of driving an hour or hour and a half to get to work and back.

She really likes the beach towns, but I really like the mountains and high desert. But I would be cool either way, and after looking at real estate, she is too, now. We have found some REALLY nice homes on small chunks of property out near Bend/Sisters.

I should really look to see if there isn't anything on the Washington side. We have not ruled Washington out, just Seattle area, again, because of it being "big city".

All my family moved to the Bend/Sisters area years ago I am the last hold out and would like to move there also but like the green of the coastal area. We spend a lot of time camping and enjoying the high desert area in the summer only a 3 hour drive, it does get hot but not by your standards no humidity the towns are not huge and offer enough stores to do your shopping and its a mecca for lakes if you still have your boat.

Not many people like the coastal areas but after they have been here a year or 2 they get depressed during the winter with all the rain but all the people flock here during the summer for the beaches and rivers as we have 7 rivers in our county, since you will be a nomad you can drift around but the biggest factor will be getting a job or 2.

Washington is equally as nice with basically the same climate
