I had to look that up, surprised I didn't know where Talcott is... I'm orig from Lewisburg area(up in sticks of Williamsburg to be exact)... Been gone from there for over 50 years... We have a guy on the T-Bird forums from Gap Mills... HadaGrabber, Sounds like that may be a old friend...
Yeah. I am not far from Lewisburg. Even closer to Gap Mills. Found some parts for my car at a junk yard near Gap Mills a few years ago. I lost touch with my old Grabber years ago but 71maverick361 has got me wondering.
A little more info. When the old car bug hit me I was able to convince my wife that I needed another Maverick mainly because of sentimental reasons. She learned to drive on her Grandparent's 70 Grabber (red, black vinyl top). Her first car was a new 1974 Comet (302 c4). And we dated in my 71 Grabber. The sentimental thing worked for me.
Yep. There are trolls on this site. I think some have left, but some are still here. There are also those whom you're not allowed to disagree with or question about anything (superiority complex), or else unleash the "wrath". You can't say you don't like something, or suggest a better way of doing it -- you can only tell them their stuff looks great, or keep silent. 'Glad to see you're back here, and your car sounds pretty cool.
Thanks. So far things have been much better this time around. I never stopped using the site for tech support as the info on here is great. I like Mavericks and Comets and I have found that just about everybody has a Maverick or Comet story to tell. People on the street for the most part have fond memories of these cars.
Welcome back from Harpers Ferry! You have John Henry, we have John Brown! I also had a 71 Grabber, 302, 3speed on the floor with buckets. Made a high winding 289 powered drag car out of it with a toploader. My current is a 72 street/strip car with a 427W. Just had to have one more before I go! Good luck with yours!
