well since you put it that way.. I may have to retract my previous choice. And yes painted tape works but they also make various color tapes these days to cut time. For black I just use black duct tape for the big areas and electrical tape for small parts mockup. Fair warning though.. do not leave tape on for any extended period of time or you will cleaning adhesive. Don't ask. lol

I painted my marker light frames the same color as the car was painted. I wanted the frames to blend in with the rest of the car. I am very happy with the results. I have not installed the front marker lights yet, but will surely have them done before spring.

You can use Plasti-dip to paint them, then if you don't like it, just peel it off and try a different color.

I painted my marker bezels satin black after getting paint. I didn't like the look. I found some NOS bezels to get the look I was looking for.

    Can't go wrong with chrome.

Nice looking chrome markers. I have my eyes on a couple NOS ones from eBay. Some ads say they're NOS but the chrome looks worn.

I would boil it down to non-striped cars looking best with chrome accents(especially if they have adjacent chrome fender trim).. whereas the grabber stripes look best with blacked out bezels since they tend to not break up the stripes continuity. Factory or not, Mica's version looks downright killer and the way it should have been done to me.

Just remember, "Chrome don't get you home"...

The satin black would probably look okay if the rest of the chrome trim around the windows, etc was blacked out. What did Stallions have for side markers??

Ill reply to this post since my car is similar. I painted the silver insert with satin trim paint. Left the chrome trim around edge. I personally dont like the silver color and the black matches my stripe

Stallions would have had argent grey side markers, no chrome, just like any other 1976.

Given what NOS marker bezels are fetching these days, painting some older pitted marker bezels is very cost effective and can look nice.

I just remembered that Torino's and a few other Fords had a hybrid type look somewhere between painted and chrome. Maybe some of those could be retrofitted instead?

Could make a good thread resource to compile what fits what to come up with tasteful and plentiful parts swap alternatives(especially the repopped stuff). Might be some bodywork involved with some swaps though.

Seems like these could be retrofitted and look absolutely factory correct when color matched to any particular grabber stripe color combo. I know I'd sure consider them if I had stripes running across my marker lights. Some of the car show judges probably wouldn't even catch the non-originality unless they had 2 cars side by side simply because they just looked right. lol

or maybe these recessed versions instead. Course these might be like looking for hens teeth too.
