Well I am coming to the conclusion that no one wants to by my car. Have came close, but it seems I would have to give it away.
I will post it up on ebay one last time soon and see if it sells.
If if doesn't I am thinking of painting the car of the key scratch's, and fixing the little rust I have.
So if it is at the shop I am thinking of taking off the side trim, filling in the holes, buying a grabber hood, sport mirrors, spoiler and painting it up. Then putting white grabber decals on the body "72 style".
    What do you guys think?
I tried to keep it original as best as possible, but I think it would make the car look better overall if it had the grabber options to it. But the thing is I am split on it. haha.
Just tossing it out there to see what other people think.

Personally I don't think a white stripe would show up that well on the light blue car, not enough contrast.

It looks like from the pictures that your car has a dark blue interior. I would change the halo top to dark blue and use a dark blue Grabber style side stripe and then put dark blue on the tail panel.

If your heart's not into the car and you put more money into it, hoping it will sell better, it's a lost cause. You would be better off lowering your price and letting it go.
If you are getting fired back up and want to have some fun, maybe make a sleeper out of it. That is one clean stock looking platform to build off of. Or do the Grabber clone like you want. (y)

You might consider putting on a set of more aggressive rims such as a Crager SS design.

I think you can do two things to improve the chances of selling it. You might consider a more aggressive looking set of mags such as the Crager SS design. Secondly, take it to a local car show with a for sale sign on it. It's a nice car.

Don't spend the money. I don't think the added expense will be found on the other end.

I agree with Maverick Dude.....I think the car needs different wheels. Cragars, Torque Thrusts, Magnum 500's.

Agreed on the wheels, current look is straight out of 1958...

well if you plan to keep it go all in and do anything and everything you can afford if youre NOT going to keep it drop your price a few hundred $ and put in big letters on your craigslist ad PRICE REDUCED and watch it sell.....summer time is hear almost and tax season is upon us its a very nice car if you could get a nice set of wheels on a deal grab them the car will definitely sell with some nice wheels and low profile tires
our cars do not sell well marketed as a classic but as a hotrod or race car they tend to sell
    good luck

oh yeah I think that light blue with a dark blue top ad tail light panel mixed with your dark blue interior and blue grabber stripes running across a grabber hood would look AWESOME so maybe theres your paint scheme if you decide to keep it

First of all, I am still amazed your car hasn't found a new home! It's a sharp car that looks super clean!! A friend of mine and local MMB member @77comet has a light blue Grabber Clone with a dark blue 3/4 vinyl top, for comparison. If you decide to go the Grabber Clone route, I would seriously consider doing away with the vinyl top (I'm starting to wish I had have done so, but I did NOT want to get into painting the entire car).

I think that any money you put into the car, just to sell it, will likely not be recouped, but having said that, a set of wheels like Torque Thrusts or Magnums would change the entire look of the car. I would also consider just adding a set of sport mirrors and keeping the trim and roof as-is. Getting into painting the car may open a can of worms, but I understand the key incident may be affecting the sale. That's why I voted to keep it as-is, but would recommend maybe a few small additions/changes like the mirrors or maybe even the wheels.

Good Luck with whatever you decide to do. I do not envy your decision.

I think if you just lowered the front end by a couple inches and add some beefier bf Goodrich or some tire that has the raised white lettering those rims would look pretty cool. They just look too plain jane sunday driver right now. Tuck in the front bumper would be pretty cheap to do also, plus the sport mirrors

I'm not really looking to improve it to help it sell as I would lose money doing that. But I figure if I do something else to it, it might be fun to do so. Just thinking about it.

    Thanks.

I have taken it to many car shows with a for sale sign on it. Mainly to cars and coffee when I can make it on Sat's.
I keep getting people offering around $3000. I tell them sorry I am not hurting for money to sell it at that price.
Most serious buyers that have came to look at it and drive it say it is worth every penny I am asking, but they want something to work on and change up. They say that it is to nice for what they want to do with it. lol.

    Wasn't 1958 a good year? Haha?
I might do that, haven't thought of changing up the wheels. Will have to photoshop some on there to see what It will look like.

If I do go that route I will keep that in mind with the color scheme.

Ya, if it was back east I think it would have sold a long time ago. For some reason here in Vegas it is hard to sell. There is a lot of old cars running around here though.
I was thinking of doing the mirrors, and a rear spoiler. I have a spoiler just haven't added it on yet.

I was on racing junk, got good hits there. Ebay now. Craigslist. KSL - a Utah classified site.

I didn't vote but I wanted to comment.
Since your car is a '73, the only way that car can be a "Grabber Clone" is if it gets the '73 2-tone Grabber paint Scheme and no Grabber hood.
The alternative would be to convert to early bumpers and make it a '71-'72 "Grabber Clone" with the '71-'72 stripe scheme. There also shouldn't be any chrome trim down the side.

My '73 has the Grabber hood and spoiler, and dual sport mirrors, but is otherwise a standard '73 Maverick (no side stripes or "Grabber" badging). The hood has the black Grabber stripe, and the tail light panel is blacked-out as well. I also got rid of all the bumper guards.
Some people assume it's a Grabber, but I never try to pass it off as such.

May main point is; if you're gonna make a clone, do it right or not at all, in other words, make everything match the year of Grabber you are trying to clone.
