HI everyone. I have a 1973 Comet. I'm doing a small bumper conversion on the front. I got the bumper, brackets, and stone gaurd. Is the lower valance different on a small bumper car compared to a big bumper car? If so will a lower valance off of a small bumper car bolt onto my stock fenders which i was going to notch out? If not where can I get 70-72 fenders? Also looking for a 70-72 mercury comet lower front valance. Thanks everyone!

I ran a string from fender to fender to ensure the center support was in line. That helped me hold up the stone guard to the car to determine how deep into the stone guard the slots would need to be. Easier with 4 sets of hands to hold and mark. Most important measurement is that you have it centered (same amount outside fender on each side). Sounds easy, not always. Make sure your bumper and brackets are the same.

Trim out part of the slot and use a dremel grinder to grind out the contour for the fender. The inside cuts don't matter. Mine lined up perfectly with the headlight bucket holes and u-nuts and bolted right in.
