I then bonded the end caps to the quarters and started doing the body work.

With all that done, I brought the dash home, sanded just the top section down and reinstalled it into the car. I played out the stripes as I have planned and carried them onto the dash. Then, back to the booth for masking and spraying of the stripe color followed by unmasking and clear again. Now, all these parts will be sanded down and sprayed with a matte finish (low Gloss) clear. That's next weekends project.

Today I sanded all the parts down and after a ton of cleaning on them sprayed on the PPG D8113 matte finish clear. There is no sanding and buffing this clear otherwise the gloss comes back, so cleanliness is super important.

Here is the final product. I left them all in the booth and will grab it all tomorrow. Once home I will install the gauges in the bezel, all the associated switches in the lower panel and mount the dash pad. Can't wait to see it all together for the first time.

Brought the pieces home from the booth today and assembled them. New gauges and custom indicator panel all now installed in my home made steel gauge panel. In the lower dash panel I made i then installed the ignition switch with matching keys, wiper and headlight switch. I bolted on the black dash pad I have been saving for this project and then installed it all in the car.

I am so happy with the look and how it all came together. Its almost like I planned it that way!! Lol......
