Well I really want the vents to work like they did from the factory but I'm going to use some sealer primer and paint it before I weld the outer back on. I'm not going to go back with a/c cause I'm going to drag race it but still yet drive it on the street

Before you weld the cowl cover back on, make sure to have your windshield wiper posts installed and center the holes in the cowl cover over them. You should be able to line-up some of the holes you drilled the spot welds out with, if you aren't replacing the whole thing. I used self-tapping tek screws which gave me alignment holes I could use and held the cover back down nice and tight for welding.

Radio! I still think sound was better in the 1970's.

Thank You! You win! I was not satisfied with the results of trying to clean the "Mouse Hotel" smell out of my seats. I loaded them up tonight and will be dropping them off to a professional flood/smoke/mould restoration company tomorrow. I'm done with sprays and cure-all concoctions.

After this, I won't put any more money into these seats, as the long-term plan is to have a set of buckets just like yours! Yours turned out great!!!

I should have these back in a couple of weeks, so I guess I'll have to start putting my vinyl top on...

I bought it as an un-finished v-8 swap, so I have not heard it run. It didnt have a transmission in the car either. It has headers, and one is resting on the power steering ram. I am getting educated..... but it is more fun than school.

Ahhh...gotcha. Nice catch on the flexplate. That thing would have probably shaken something awful had you run it that way. I had one lose the weight once, and it was not pretty! Destroyed the flex, the spacer plate, the trans bellhousing, and the brake line! I went through the traps at about 106 mph, and when I went to hit the brakes, the pedal went straight to the floor!

Yikes! That thing made its exit on the drivers side! did it pierce the body and come in to say hello? Wow. That is what nightmares are made of.

Thanks for that pic Maxx. What I did today was remove my flexplate and put it back on AFTER putting block plate behind it. I slapped my head when I saw your block plate pic cuz I knew my block plate was still in the shed.

Took her to the gas station and a 15 mile run up to 65 mph!!!. Nothing fell off. 2 plus years in the making and first time sine 1983 for this car. A great feeling. Still some things to work out, but all easy.

New Rods & Pistons for the 418 getting their first bath in the parts cleaner. Hard to see the solvent...but it's in there! Changed out the solvent for this stage. Hopefully, work will calm down a touch this week, and I can get some mock up and clearance checks done. Also need to get piston rings filed...and get stuff dropped off to the machine shop.
