What did you do to your Maverick or Comet today

What kind of solvent do you use?

 

Setup my F30 tank with aeromotive phantom 340 in tank

 

I use this stuff called PSC-1000. I get it in 5-gallon pails at Tractor Supply. Works great, lasts good, and doesn't smell bad like some of the stuff does.

 

Is that a variable venture carburetor? If it is, it's great for gas mileage but that is about it!

 

After researching methods, I chose an old hamburger bun. I guess my 302 had a stick in its former life.

 

Never heard of using a hamburger bun!

 

I pulled the 5.0 out of a 83 thunderbird and that's what it came with. Intake and carb will be getting replaced

 

bread is bread...you have heard of using bread?

 

I haven't, just grease and taps on the brass bushings. I guess around here the mechanics prefer to eat their bread rather than sacrifice it for the job!

 

Moved my electrical loads off the ignition switch and on to relays. ... and it all worked....?!?!.

 

I didn't get my windshield and back window installed. Auto Glass Now didn't show up at the time they gave me, but did leave a voicemail saying they had "changed their minds" about coming out because I wanted the original glass reinstalled, the same original glass they removed 2 years ago and quoted on installing yesterday. They also said they would install it if I drove the car to the shop (wearing goggles I presume).

 

I got my C4 mostly installed. All I have to say right now is....I hate headers. The car came with them, but if I have to pull the engine or trans for any reason, I better just "love" those stupid things or they are gone.

 

Somehow I got my C4 up into place by just loosening the Hedman 88300 long tube headers. I know it was tight, but I twisted and turned everything until it fit. No need to pull engine. If I had it to do different, I'd try shorties, but then I suspect they have their problems.

 

What exactly are you doing?

 

I would say he's doing pilot bearing. Very common trick to remove stubborn ones.
