poured fresh gas in it, put an inline fuel filter on it, and fought the urge to just burn it to the ground :grumpy: . I think I will be figuring out what it takes to put a 350 center bolt tbi SBC and 4L60E in it .

yeah the link didn't work. I know the 250 is good, runs, and supposedly was rebuild a while back with the car showing 66,xxx some original miles. I'm just annoyed with it because trying to get it to run off the tank isn't happening, mechanical pump works off a gas jug, the carb runs pretty smooth, and when you hook the pump up to tank it does nothing. I don't see any leaks so it's either the in tank assembly or clogged line or weak pump maybe

I had a plugged fueline once upon a time....I cleared it by sticking an air hose into the filler neck and sealed it off with a rag and my hands and tried to pressurize the tank. The procedure pushed a rusty blob of chunks out the other end of the fuel line. I suppose you could also disconnect the line at the tank and blow air down the line itself. I wasnt smart enough to do that way back.

Too bad you weren't closer... I'd be there in a heartbeat! I'm not an upholsterer, but I did my own headliner and had a lot of involvement in installing my vinyl top. Once I saw the top being done, I'd attempt the next one myself for sure. Hope your schedule comes ahead for you.

Thanks Guys ! I'll have to give the air hose thing a try and 71gold I was trying to avoid dropping the tank right now because of not having the $ for the gaskets/seals for the tank if I take it out. Figured it would leak every where after or suck air like crazy.

I seen that today Thanks and my culprit is a pin hole about 4" from the sender towards the back bumper. It's just enough that it steadily pours .... will drop the tank, clean it Real Good, and probably put in a bung/drain plug set up like you showed me (y)

while we are on the subject of tank, I decided to drain mine (car has not run for many years) and pull the sending unit. All I ca say is "ick." What do I do with the sender....it appears to have lost its float. Can the part with the float wire coming out of it be taken apart and cleaned, or is it "sealed"? I imagine the tank should come out too....

More undercoating removal. So far it hasn't been horrible, sure there are better, quicker ways but this fits my tight wad ways!
