Apparently my 72 Comet at one time had the factory body side molding that follows the body curve similar to a 73 Comet GT stripe, only higher up on the body. The paint on the car is very decent, but I need to remove the rivets for the body side molding. If anyone has done this, what is better, cutting them off and grinding them down, or drilling them out?
Late reply but I took mine off as well. I used a cutting wheel then carefully ground them down Spot primered for protection Probably going to pin strip along those tho to hide the work
I was thinking about doing the same using the 73 Comet GT stripe and placing it up higher than normal.
They are welded in place (Like a stud gun does) You can grind em off or...Really simple, and fast...Put a pair of vise grips on the head...Lock em down tight and just twist...They will just pop off this way...Quick and easy...
