Here is a copy of the Marti report of newly acquired car, its a little confusing to me as it groups all the Mavericks together the only thing that is certain is that there were only 5,527 made and from what I can guess at is there were only 1,457 in the silver/black combo. If you have a Marti report for a Stallion please post a copy so we can compare them
1,457 is the number of 1976 Maverick 2 door sedans made that were painted Silver Metallic (1G) with Black vinyl bucket seats (LA).
Maybe if you contacted Kevin he could give you a breakdown. It would be great to know how many of each color were made.
So then the 1,457 does not mean that it was a Stallion it could have been just a 1G painted Maverick with bucket seats. I seem to remember reading someplace on the forum that there were 180 some Stallions in the black/silver combo. It would have been nice if the Marti report would have broke it down farther but you have to pay another $235.00 to get just a few more facts and a window sticker and door tag all framed, maybe at a later time
Craig they actually contacted me and ask for a picture of the door tag for on going research. They say that most of the time they can break it down far enough that the car ends up being a 1 of car. In the case of this car both Wilbur and I figure the am/fm/8 track was pretty rare but who knows
Correct, there were 1,457 '76 Maverick 2 door sedans that were painted 1G and had the LA interior. Those could have been 'Plain Jane' Mavericks or Stallions.
Very cool. This Maverick Stallion was special ordered by the buyer because of the designation "RETAIL" under Order Type. Dealer ordered or 'Lot' cars, would have a designation "STOCK" under Order Type.
Definitely would be nice if it was narrowed down further. But if it was nobody would spend the extra money for the custom report.
There is a silver Stallion on Ebay right now that has a picture of the Marti Report in the listing. I can't post a link to the listing right now because I'm at work and Ebay is a blocked website.
Yeah I saw that and was comparing numbers with mine. Says it had a luggage rack glad that is gone. Pretty steep price tag but doesnt look like it needs anything else done. All the numbers match mine except paint trim code
It is kind of interesting that there were just 177 of the Silver cars with the Black vinyl bench seat interior combo. I'm thinking that a lot of the non-Stallion Silver cars had the blue interiors. I have seen a couple like that and it is a nice color combo.
