Beautiful color and top notch craftsmanship. I hope my 71 comes out half as nice as yours I have enjoyed watching your build. I bet you can't wait to take it for its first cruise

And the sun shined down and let the pearls sparkle.....................

So thrilling to see it out in the sun and be able to stand back and soak it all in. An amazing feeling after all these years in the garage.

Glenn, when you hang the doors, could you give us a step by step on the alignment? My doors fit perfect before paint, now they fit like cr@p. I'm a bit intimidated by the thought of messing them up worse...

Russ, I can do that, however I am expecting for the doors to fit easily as planned. I have had the doors on and off probably 20 times or so in the last few years and every time they fit perfectly as before. Way back when I spent hours upon hours fitting the doors and gaps to be as good as I could get them. Once happy, I split the hinges and use the pins whenever I take the doors off and on. If you notice the halves are on the post all painted, the same on the door shells.

When I am ready to put them back on all I need to do is slide the pins back in place and all should be good. At least, thats the plan anyway!

Mine fit perfect when the car was bought. My painter blew everything apart and they now fit like cr@p. It could be the "new" rubber seals causing it too. If I ever get the energy, I may strip off all the rubbers and see if I can get the fit back to where it once was, then go from there...

Thats brilliant. I would never have thought of that. Blue is my favorite color and that blue just gorgeous and really shows off your excellent craftsmanship.

This weekend was spent getting the interior sheetmetal prepped and black DP90 epoxied. Something I should have done a long time ago, but just kept putting it off until now. While I let it sit and fully cure, I tackled a few other things that needed to be done before I Dynamat the floors.

I started the day with figuring out where to mount to battery box and fuel vent from II Much Fabrication. I am happy with the placement.

After that was done, I drilled the holes and mounted the wire harness pass thru I am going to be using. Something a little cleaner looking than a regular grommet.

Then I took care of drilling the holes and mounting the heater hose barbs. I had welded up the holes in the firewall where the factory hose would have gone. I will now be running the hoses thru the finer well and then into the cowl from the wheel side of the apron.

Also, mounted the Lokar shifter. I had drilled the holes for this a few years ago when the seats were in the car. Now i needed to reinstall the shifter so I can locate the console I will be running. I need to fab up mounting tabs for the console, and the shifter will locate where everything else mounts.

Hi! Your car is by far the best creation yet. Would you mind sharing where you got the spoiler? Thanks.

I am pretty sure you are asking about the front spoiler, right?? I was the person that started the process of getting Spoilers By Randy to make one for our cars. Once I got it going and got Randy willing to take on the project, a few other guys took the lead and got Randy a perfect lower valance to use so he had something to work of off.

Google Spoiler By Randy. You will find them listed there.

Thank you for that compliment. It is really appreciated. I think the big difference in what I am doing and everyone else is that I grew up with a true down to the core hot rodder for a father. He instilled in me the talent and skills it takes to do all this. Going to car shows since I was able to walk, I looked, learned and soaked it all in. I am trying to build this car with a "street rodder's" eye, not a Maverick owners, or muscle car persons eye. I think there is a difference. That doesn't make my way better, I already know there are "maverick people" that will not like my car and what I have done. Truthfully, I am really cool with that. I am building this car to my taste and style. If not one other person likes it, I am fine with that, because I will LOVE it.

There are some incredible builds on this forum. I love seeing what everyone else is doing to their car!
