Getting a little bit faster. 7.26 @96.5 mph. & 7.22 @ 97.1 mph Most of the time I'm running 7.32 to 7.35.
Well for the last race at my home track, I bump the timing up a little and installed an old hurst ramrod shifter. And was rewarded with a 7.11 et and a 1.48 60ft
Was hoping to break into the 6's but am happy with what I got. if I don't get it in ubbly, mi next month it will wait until next year.
Sorry should have been 1.4980 also had a 1.4999. Normal is 1.51 to 1.55. 72 maverick all stock suspension with some old Lakewood slapper bars, no sub frame connectors and no rollbar yet (will be winter upgrades). I have a vid of the car leaving the line just need to figure out how to post it from my phone.
Car looks like it's leaving good, but a CalTrac style suspension would probably help some on the 60's. I made my own, and they work very well. I drew them up on AutoCad, but am not sure I have the files anymore. Had a laptop stolen, and pretty sure they were on there. It's been several years since I did them. I never ran mine with anything but those on it, so I don't have an apples to apples comparison of my car with traditional slapper bars vs the CalTrac setup, but I'm a believer in them! 6's are right around the corner...but don't think for one minute that's going to be good enough lol. Then you'll want 6.80's, then 70's...then you'll spend a little bigger pile of cash and 6.50's will fall, then 40's. Then the wheels will start turning in your brain, and you'll hear that little voice say...you know, we're not too far from 5's lol. Good luck on your march...and know that there's a whole lot of folks on here with the same disease
Car is hooking & leaving really well,if you don`t have 90/10s for front shocks, get some, even though I would`nt recommend them for a street car.The car is reacting perfectly, front end up on launch & the rear rising just slightly planting the slicks into the pavement, just looks like the nose drops to quickly after 60 ft.
