Had my new personal best a few weeks ago out at the NMCA West race in Fontana, CA. 4.88 @ 149.3mph. It's pretty sketchy going that fast on the little tires, but the old Maverick works great! Also set the class ET record. The track was decent, but I'm looking forward to racing at the Street Car Supernationals in Las Vegas in November where the track is usually really good. I just lightened my car up by 70 lbs and John Calvert is helping me with some new custom parts for my Caltrac setup that might help even more. We'll see how it goes...
Congratulations! That's a really good pass. Keep us up to date on the Cal-trac stuff. Good luck in Vegas.
Holy crap!.. one very fast car. The hood must stay pointing upwards most of the way down the track and you have to look out the side windows just to see if your staying in your lane. lol
Thanks guys. I don't have the 4.88 video, but there's a video of a 5.04 pass where I had to lift because it started to do a power wheelie down track. It's on my Aldrich Family Racing Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/aldrichfamilyracing/ Maxx, I don't remember the 330 but the 60' was a 1.24.
That is a very good time for that small of a tire.Last wknd at VMP quite a few cars were running 4 flats with twin turbos & 10.5s,but many of them became unstable at half track & had to back out of it.I wonder how Gary & Skeeter did at MIR last wknd.
Hey Dan, Had a great time, Skeeter got r/u in top on Saturday and down to five cars in Mod. I sucked on Saturday but pulled out a r/u in Mod on Sunday. Both vehicles ran 9.40's to 9.50's all weekend with no issues!
Thats great news Gary,I plan on trying to go to the bracket bash Nov. 12 in Petersburg.I don`t know what the entry fee is but it is $10,000 to win, should pull in a ton of cars as it will be one of the last races of the season. If the weather is good & it is not to cold, should be some great racing, hope to see you there.
Man..that's a pretty soft 60' for that ET! Do you run a Grid, or timer to pull timing to control wheel spin on launch? That is even MORE impressive lol. That thing is a beast! How many sets of the tires do you go through in a season? I bet it kills the sidewalls on them pretty quick. You are definitely representing the Maverick world proudly! Congratulations again...If I ever get back to the left coast I'd love to come watch it run sometime. You've definitely got it figured out.
Thanks Maxx! Yes, we use the MSD Grid and take out timing at the start and ramp it back in. I usually can go a couple races on a pair of slicks. The new Mickey radial slick has a nice stiff sidewall and works really good. Hope I can do well for the Maverick world in a few weeks in Vegas. Thanks again!
