I was working on my 1975 ford maverick 4door inline 6 250ci and found mounds of metal shavings in the spark plug port. I figure time to refurbish. I was thinking "is it possible/smart to turn this inline 250 into a 300"?
Is it possible? Should I do that and if so how do I do it bore or stroke? What do I have to change with it? Can I turn this 250 into a 300ci beast?

The 250 & 300 are totally different engines, AFAIK no parts interchange(maybe spark plugs)...

    Kinda like comparing a 351 with a 460...

No doubt one could use custom pistons, rods & offset ground crank to increase displacement(how much I dunno but 250 is near it's limit), could probably buy a custom built 347 for less...

Oh ok that sucks thank you. I'd like to keep the engine it's the original.

Sorry but for a 4dr 6cyl it doesn't make any difference... Mine doesn't have orig engine(though I have it) and neither does my Turbo Coupe T-Bird(now a collectable in nice orig condition)... I sold the original pressurized half motor(turbo 4cyl) to a guy who has a SVO Stang..
