Hey guys just wanted to put some info out there about my project tips or suggestions always appreciated. This is my first major project but I'm currently working on a e85 ford 300 turbo maverick hoping to achieve 600-800 hp . Right now the body is apart next summer going to tear everything out sandblast and figure out how much interior I will keep for weight and money/restoration purposes and also install cage work on paint . I have all the glass fenders and bumpers trunk and a carbon fiber hood already but the cars put up for winter and I'm working on the 300 i6 just got the block back got my block back bored .030 about to install my clevite 77 main bearings and arp main studs for the the hd forged factory crankshaft . Where I have came to the first headache of the motor build . On a lot of forums people say ford 300 rod are forged before ordering my rods the companyinformed me they are not they are cast and if they areselling them imagine they are right , so now I am seeing if I can get some off the shelf rods and modify them but it's not looking likely if not I will break down and buy a set of customs but I was planning on getting custom pistons anyways but it will probably be put back to the 8:1 comp but I will post pics and update after I get the pistons and cam installed . Ps have some pics but can't figure out how to upload from phone
Should be a cool build to follow, love the idea of the 300 but you have some work cut out for you to get it installed. There was just a person that is on this forum and his friend bought a nostalgic Maverick called The Mad Frenchman and it is a record holding Maverick with a 300 6 perhaps he could be of some help if you need some info
