Thanks Chip..... I hope to get it running before well before Christmas but I will not rush the wiring, that would be asking for trouble down the road.....
Hi Frank: " I hear that " ! We're finishing up the wiring on my Daughters Maverick and we ALWAYS take our time to be sure it's correct. Wasn't advocating you rush to finish .. Rome wasn't built in a day ! Steady as she goes ! Cometized (Chip)
Nothing picture worthy, still working on under dash wiring..... Getting pretty close on the under dash, but had to get a different fuse block because I was not happy with the one I had..... I keep having to change stuff, last week I found out my under dash cruise control bracket did not have enough clearance for the amount of travel in a ls1 throttle body..... I got that straightened out this week.....
I got a new computer and as far as I'm concerned Windows 10 blows..... I have made some progress..... The under dash is all done(I hope), everything I can test has been tested..... Yester day I wired the instrument cluster and installed/tested it..... I am going to get started on the firewall forward wiring today..... Here are some pic's of the interior, everything is back together except the seats are not bolted down and no seat belts bolted in yet(just waiting on these till it runs just incase I need to get back under the dash.....
Hi Frank: Very tasteful ! Like the placement ! I did the large tach and speedo arrangement also . Like the way your mounting plate for the two gauges looks ! Your care and attention to detail is ' showing ' Kudos Frank !! Cometized (Chip)
Thanks Chip..... I think my attention to detail is why everything takes waaaaayyyyyy tooooooo long!!!!!
Today I got some of the under hood stuff figured out, from which I now have a nice little shopping list..... Then I started getting the firewall plug pinned for most of the engine stuff..... Not much to see, but here it is anyways.....
It's registered, but I am not sure if the car will be ready..... We will have to see how it goes.....
Got some work done on the engine wiring today..... Currently working on the under intake/most of the sensors harness.....
Got the under intake wiring made, which includes most of the sensors..... Was also able to put the o-rings in the intake and bolt it down for the first time.....I have to put one more fitting in the intake elbow before I put it back on.....
Well, it's been a couple weeks since I updated..... I got some kind of flu or something, I tried to go down and work on it anyways..... With an unclear head I realized that I cut a couple wires wrong, so I just quit before I F'd up anything else..... This week I felt a little better but not great, I went down and removed then disassemble the harness so I could replace a couple wires from the connector..... I got it repaired/replaced and I went ahead and pinned the rest of the front light/accessary harness in the firewall connector..... I also changed the two 8 pin connectors at the under intake harness out to a single 16 pin(they finally got here)..... I did get most of the engine harness layed out..... New rule, don't try to work on complicated wiring when under the weather and not thinking clearly..... Unfortunately I will not be making it to Ocala/Silver Springs next week due to unforeseen set backs..... Hope the rest of you enjoy the show..... Here's a couple of what it is currently looking like.....
Good rule of thumb, another is to do it when the guy you're helping is out of town! I helped a friends dad with his CJ5, I would get a good start on a circuit then he would move switches or switch his gauges. I had to rework several runs and once it was done I had made a few mistakes that I had to rework.
