I have a 1970 Maverick Grabber that is totaled,it's been setting in my late fathers junk yard for over 20 years! My question is it worth fixing and can I get sheet metal parts.Not much on parts on the internet,just found this websight! Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the foremost informative site on the internet about Mavericks and Comets It depends on what sheet metal parts you want, floor pans and rear quarter stuff is being repopped as well as the infamous Grabber hood as far as fenders go you will have to find them used. A lot of the smaller parts such as Melvins and a host of other vendors sell them. This place is like Alices Restaurant with some reading you will have all your questions answered. Welcome from Northern California! Post some pictures so we can see how bad it is. Lots of parts are being remanufactured now, plus you'll be able to get tons of parts here on the forum.
If it has been sitting outside for 20 years in Upper New york....my guess is it is not worth restoring.
No rust the car was rolled over. The car when my friend bought it was set up for eighth mile drag racing, had a 302,2 barrel carb on a aluminum high rise intake,it would pull the front wheels off the ground,it had 540 rear gears,all that stuff has been gone for over 20 years,just the shell there now,but it is a real Grabber painted Grabber Blue!

It's really not bad shape except for bent sheet metal, I'm currently restoring a 1969 Cougar Eliminator,1 of 16 produced,428 SCJ,Super Drag pack car,it was rusted pretty bad the Maverick is not but the Cougar is worth around 150,000 dollars restored!I do not know what the Maverick would be worth.
