Someone had to be the G Pig. You can tell us how it worked for you! I had a set of the SPC arms; they didn't work out for me. Sold them. Others, here, have used them w/o issue. I had a noise/knock in the front suspension, cudn't figure out what was the problem. Went back to stock arms -- problem solved.
Look really nice for the money. Only thing i see right off is still having to drill new holes to drop them down for the Arning drop. And they don't appear to be left/right specific either. So, not only down for the arning drop but also slightly rearwards to improve caster too? Do you have any spec's on what geometry differences from stock?
I read somewhere that the arms are a little shorter so you get more camber adjustability out of the lower arm. Don't know if they affect caster.
Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to your alignment spec's and overall driving impression. I usually have a decent memory but I can't rightly remember.. what's your current front-end parts combo? Are you planning on installing the new arms in stock mounting locations?
I too am interested if they have any built in caster changes. Also, it appears they have mounts for aftermarket coil-overs? Or what are those extra holes below the spring mounts?
Currently the front end is stock with the exception of roller spring perches and Gabriel shocks. If these work out ok someday I'd like to try the adjustable heim joint strut rods. Or they make what they call a mini sub frame kit that eliminates the strut rods. correct me if I'm wrong here, but just looking at that picture.. couldn't that belly plate potentially be split and narrowed up some to fit this particular chassis? The splitting/narrowing part looks doable but then that brings the other question.. is the length from the LCA mounting point to the front strut rod support beam much different than an early mustang? I would also have to wonder about that shorter lower arms tendency to change/improve castor throughout its arc compared to a longer original design mounting location.
They replied, only said they don't have anything in the works right now. Considering some of the obscure cars they make the kits for now and the fact that a Maverick kit would use early Mustang arms that they already make I would hope they consider it.
